• Dawn Emerick, president and CEO of the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida, joins Chris Overdorf, principal of the Seattle office of ELM architects and planners, to present, “Is Jacksonville Healthy? • The Association for Corporate Growth plans “Dealmaking in 2012 – A Rebound in Private Equity, Strategic Bidders and the Leveraged Financial Markets” at its holiday reception and program Thursday at River City Brewing Co. • The Real$ense Prosperity Campaign needs volunteers to help prepare tax returns from January through April for low-income and moderate-income Northeast Florida residents. Real$ense, an initiative of United Way, operates free tax sites in Duval, Nassau, Clay, St. Johns, Putnam and Baker counties. • Former state Rep. Ronald Brise will serve as chairman of the Florida Public Service Commission for a two-year term starting in January. The PSC unanimously chose Brise this week to succeed Art Graham, a former Jacksonville City Council member, in the job, which typically rotates among commission members. The chairman’s duties include running meetings and handling administrative matters.
