The JAX Chamber has introduced a Buy Chamber program that it reports is designed to help members more easily market and promote their businesses to other members.

“The Chamber is helping lead the way to a more prosperous future by implementing dynamic programs to grow local businesses,” said Wally Lee, president of the JAX Chamber, in a news release.

The Buy Chamber program features six components:

• Matchmaking events. Member business owners can deliver quick presentations promoting their products and services and meet one-on-one with other member company buyers at events throughout the year.

• Training and education. Buy Chamber training programs are tailored to instruct member businesses about the best practices in selling to the public and private sector.

• Buy Chamber Marketplace. The JAX Chamber is offering an online savings program that allows members to offer discounts and communicate with other members on www.myjaxchamber.com.

• Corporate buying program. Based on a number of local companies’ purchasing processes, several case scenarios were developed to show how other corporations can use a process to consider chamber members first when buying a product or service. The chamber is working with purchasing agents at larger corporations to help put a structure into place that promotes buying from other member businesses.

• Member B2B announcements. The chamber’s councils have a tradition of highlighting business transactions with other members at their monthly meetings. The member-to-member announcements show the grassroots culture of doing business with members first.

• Executive procurement officer committee. The group will focus on sharing the culture change of “Buy Chamber” at the corporate executive level within the business community.
