When you sell handmade personalized accessories like hair clips, headbands, pocket mirrors, baby bibs and embroidered badge reels, there’s probably not a better place to open a store than between Nine West Outlet and the Body Shop.

That’s what Jason and Jamie Cook decided when they opened Lilies Boutique at the Landing.

The couple has operated the business on the Internet for more than a year. When it outgrew their home, they started looking around for a brick-and-mortar storefront.

They soon discovered a space available at the Landing and unlocked the doors on their showroom Monday.

There’s a grand opening planned for January after the holiday cybershopping season. Scheduling the ribbon-cutting a few weeks away also will give the Cooks time to set up the fabrication area in the back and stock their store with plenty of inventory.

“We can’t just order merchandise like other stores can because we make everything by hand,” said Jason.
