Goodwill Industries of North Florida honored three “Achievers Of The Year” Thursday at its 11th Annual Striving to Succeed Luncheon and Celebrity Fashion Show.
About 600 people attended the event at The Morocco Shrine Center to benefit Goodwill, which is funded by sales in its network of retail stores that sell donated clothing, furniture and household items.
Goodwill uses its funds to offer employment services for free to anyone seeking a job. Goodwill Job Junctions in North Florida serve more than 23,000 people a year and place more than 10,500 into jobs.
Goodwill operates almost 20 retail stores in Jacksonville and in Orange Park, St. Augustine, Fernandina Beach, Gainesville, Palatka, Lake City, Palm Coast and Starke.
It also plans to open Bluetique in Ponte Vedra Beach to sell donated designer clothing, shoes and accessories as well as household items.
The celebrity models wore clothing and accessories that were donated to Goodwill.
