Online job advertising in Northeast Florida turned back up in August, rising 2.1 percent from July after monthly declines since May.
Over the year, postings were up 16.6 percent.
WorkSource reported that online advertised job vacancies rose by 3,106 jobs over the year to 21,869. Over the month, vacancies rose by 450.
WorkSource is the Florida workforce organization serving Northeast Florida.
WorkSource reports online job vacancy numbers each month. Previous numbers are adjusted with updated data.
WorkSource said that online job demand in the six-county region it serves has increased by 7,597 jobs since the official end of the recession in June 2009.
Regional labor demand bottomed out in January 2009, measured by the online advertised vacancies. Since then, demand has increased by 11,099 openings.
The WorkSource region consists of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau,
Putnam and St. Johns counties.
Job postings remain most prevalent in computer systems, health care, retail sales and sales management and truck driv-
ing.
The monthly report comes from data collected by The Conference Board, a New York-based nonprofit and independent source of economic information.
The Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation provided a subscription to each of the 24 workforce regions in Florida.
