Starting Sept. 19, Auction.com said it will auction several Jacksonville-based properties, including the Wyndham Jacksonville Riverwalk Hotel Downtown and the Days Inn along Cagle Road in Southside.
Auction.com said Wednesday in a news release that the properties would be auctioned online over 18 days, concluding Oct. 6.
It said the Wyndham’s starting bid is $5.25 million and the Days Inn bidding starts at $250,000.
The 322-room full-service Wyndham is on 5.81 acres on the Southbank at Prudential Drive and Riverplace Boulevard, according to Auction.com.
It said the hotel was built in 1980 and underwent a major renovation from 2006-08. It was rebranded from a Radisson to a Wyndham in April 2006.
The 120-room Days Inn, at 5649 Cagle Road, was built in 1971 and features two adjoined, two-story buildings on a 3-acre site. Amenities include an outdoor pool, fitness center, a breakfast dining area, and 800 square feet of meeting space. The property features parking for 77 vehicles.
Auction.com said the hotel derives 20 percent of its demand from corporate and commercial users, 75 percent from leisure travel, and 5 percent from meetings and groups.
The properties being auctioned include multifamily developments, mobile home parks, retail, mixed-use, hotel, land, self-storage, office, industrial and special-purpose assets, it said.
Auction.com said it is the nation’s leading real estate auctioneer and loan sales adviser. It said it was auctioning more than 325 non-performing notes and commercial properties throughout the Southeastern U.S.
“After extremely successful auctions in Arizona, Nevada and Texas, our clients are requesting additional location-specific events,” said Auction.com CEO Jeff Frieden.
“Based on early call volume and web traffic, there is strong interest for real estate and non-performing loans from opportunistic investors, particularly in areas like the Southeast,” he said.
“Auction.com’s platform is the only transparent vehicle in the marketplace where everyone gets to compete on a level playing field,” he said.
The online auctions currently consist of 151 assets in Florida, followed by 98 in Georgia, 38 in North Carolina, 16 in Tennessee, 13 in Alabama, 14 in South Carolina, seven in Virginia, five in Mississippi, and two in both Kentucky and Maryland.
