SunTrust bank celebrated the opening of its relocated Northbank retail branch Friday with a visit from Mayor Alvin Brown.

“I’m very excited this branch is open,” said Brown.

SunTrust North Florida Region President, CEO and Chairman David Mann helped Brown cut the ceremonial ribbon to officially open the bank, then presented donations to four local service organizations.

“Our motto is ‘Solid Gives Back.’ At SunTrust, we build our company by building our community,” he said.

Mann then presented $500 checks to LISC Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Urban League, War on Poverty Florida and the Northwest Jacksonville Community Development Corp.

SunTrust has 76 branch locations in North Florida, including one on the Southbank at 1300 Riverplace Blvd. and the new retail service center at 76 N. Laura St., which replaces the branch formerly located across the street in Wells Fargo Center.
