Randy Wiggins opened NuView Realty in 2008. The office is at 2121 Corporate Square Blvd. in Arlington.
NuView?
“I was sitting around with my family thinking up catchy names and one of the ideas was NuView. It just kind of stuck. It fit the image because when you buy, you have a new view of your surroundings.”
Agents in office?
Wiggins is the broker and Stacey Norman, Linda Cross, Clelia “Clea” Ellis, Maryann Culbreath, Sandy Dorman, Kathy Newton, William Bircher, Cheryl Goss, Donald Hart, Dawn Spencer, David Wiggins Jr., Trudy Secrest and Mirtha Rust are the agents.
How is your company different?
“The approach that I take is more informational and helpful. There are quite a few agents that take on the role of a salesperson and my job is to help the customer understand what they are getting.”
Inspector Wiggins?
Wiggins is also a licensed home inspector, so he is able to point out things to customers things that might be potential issues. “So even though I’m not doing the inspection as we are walking through homes, I can actually point out areas of concern. Better to get them in a nice house than a money pit.”
What’s Wiggins’ experience?
He started out with Embassy Realty and then moved to Zip Realty and then opened his own company. Wiggins said his experience working with smaller companies helped him to form his own company’s ideals. “When you work for a small company, your hands are in more areas than just a sales position, so you learn the ins and outs of running a company first-hand.”
Expansion?
Though he only has one office, he is looking to add more agents if the opportunity arises. “We offer a very generous commission split. We may expand here, but I’m not interested in multiple locations.”
Working in an office not productive?
“You aren’t generating business by sitting in an office all day. Traditional real estate, in my opinion, is dying. It is the way of the past. Foot traffic is a dying breed and virtual offices are taking off. The office here is a place they can come and sit down with a customer if need be, but they should be out meeting new people and getting customers.”
Team meetings?
About once a month. “We’ll sit down and see what is going on in people’s individual environments and we’ll get together at various builder locations.”
Area your office covers?
All of Northeast Florida. He has agents spread out all over the city.
Training?
Wiggins hires new and experienced Realtors. He does in-house training as needed depending on the agent. “Some you need to take baby steps with and others are ready to go right out of the gate.”
Other interests?
Wiggins also owns NuView Home Inspections and NuView Realty Referral Group. He is also involved in property management and manages the Southpoint Suites and Corporate Suites office complexes.
Compete in this market?
“We have been extremely busy lately. Real estate-wise, I have seen an increase in the number of potential buyers in the last month or month and a half. I’ve dealt with more buyers in that time frame than I maybe six months of the previous year. My agents are doing well and some are doing four deals a month.”
