• Restore Jacksonville and ULI North Florida will present a breakfast program about “Downtown Revitalization, the Economic Benefits of Historic Preservation and the Link to Sustainability” from 7:30-9:30 a.m. May 4 at the Main Library Downtown. The speaker will be economic development consultant Donovan Rypkema. Rypkema is principal of PlaceEconomics, a Washington, D.C.-based real estate and economic development-consulting firm that specializes in services to public and non-profit sector clients who are dealing with downtown and neighborhood commercial district revitalization. • The CoreLogic research service reports that foreclosure rates in Jacksonville increased in February over February 2011. The Jacksonville area foreclosure rate among outstanding mortgage loans was 8.68 percent in February, up 0.23 percentage points from February 2011, when the rate was 8.45 percent. The national foreclosure rate was 3.41 percent.

• Meanwhile, CoreLogic reports that the mortgage delinquency rate increased in Jacksonville. In February, 14.18 percent of mortgage loans were 90 days or more delinquent compared to 13.6 percent in February 2011, an increase of 0.58 percent.

• Mathis & Murphy attorney Alexandria Hill joined the board of directors of Girls Inc. of Jacksonville.

• Celebrate the Jacksonville Giants as American Basketball Association champions. The City declared May 3 as Jacksonville Giants ABA Champions Day. A parade starts at 5 p.m. from EverBank Field to the Arena. Fans at the parade will receive commemorative ABA Champs posters. • The City announced that the 20th annual World of Nations Celebration, presented by OneMain Financial, is planned May 3-6 at Metropolitan Park.
