Gov. Rick Scott on Friday announced Rogers Towers attorney Tatiana Salvador will replace the retiring Judge McCarthy "Mack" Crenshaw on the 4th Circuit bench in January.
Salvador, 44, was first picked from a pool of 19 applicants in October by the 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.
The commission sent Scott a list of six names and chose Salvador from that list.
"Tatiana has a great reputation in the Fourth Judicial Circuit and will make a great addition to the bench. Throughout her career, she has shown an excellent knowledge of law and a willingness to serve Florida citizens," Scott said in a news release.
Salvador has worked at Rogers Towers since 2001 and practices in the firm's litigation department.
Before joining the firm, Salvador was an assistant state attorney from 1994-2001. Two years after joining the State Attorney's Office she was promoted to the homicide prosecution team and a year later she was promoted to division chief.
