Amid the scent of barbecue, sounds of oysters being shucked and the sight of hundreds of people gathering under a big, white tent along Hendricks Avenue, two people were legally bound in matrimony Dec. 6.

James Gonzalez and Kristin (Holley) Gonzalez held a traditional wedding with friends and family earlier in 2012, but a paperwork problem occurred with their marriage license and they were informed they were not legally married. Enter friend, and notary, Kyle Jacobs, who performed the ceremony.

"I'm glad to help out some friends," said Jacobs.

Harris Guidi partner Robert Harris could not recall another wedding occurring during the annual holiday party.

"That would be our first wedding. Good for them," said Harris.

The holiday party has been hosted by the law firm of Harris Guidi Rosner Dunlap Rudolph for about 30 years.
