The American Board of Trial Advocates has presented Circuit Judge James Daniel its "Jurist of the Year" award.
The group held its annual awards dinner Dec. 8 at the San Jose Country Club.
Scott Costantino of The Costantino Law Firm was named "Lawyer of the Year" and Eric Leach of Milton, Leach, Whitman, D'Andrea & Eslinger was given the "Civility Award."
President Dianne Weaver, of Weaver & Weaver, gave Presidential Awards to members who provided tours June-August of the newly opened Duval County Courthouse. The members gave tours for attorneys, paralegals and the public.
Presidential Awards are given to Jeptha Barbour, Dana Bradford, Costantino, Stephen Day, Corrine Hodak, Wayne Hogan, Ed McCarthy, Charles Pillans, Matthew Posgay, Jake Schickel, Scott Sheftall, John C. Taylor and Ben Weaver.
Dianne Weaver served as president this year, along with Vice President Charles Pillans, of the Bedell Firm; Treasurer Tad Griffin, of The Law Firm of Pajcic & Pajcic; and Costantino, who served as historian and secretary.
The 2013 officers were sworn in. Griffin is president, Leach is vice president and Costantino is treasurer. Weaver becomes immediate past president.
