Community involvement: The Gator Bowl Committee

How did you become involved?

I was invited to be a committee member. At the time, I did not realize what a fantastic organization we have in the Gator Bowl. The economic impact for Jacksonville, the charitable donations and the scouting trips to SEC and Big Ten schools are just a few of the great benefits of serving on the Gator Bowl Committee.

How can someone else become involved?

The Gator Bowl Committee is invitation only, but, if you are interested, contact a member and you can be recommended for membership. You also can support the Gator Bowl by purchasing tickets, attending the game or other events and/or volunteering at one of our community events. The week of the game there are a number of great events that many volunteers help with including the pep rallies, welcome parties, the parade and game day.

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?

By being part of an organization that impacts our community and so many underprivileged children in the area, I have really grown to appreciate all the Gator Bowl has to offer the City of Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.

What was the last book you read or are reading?

"When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi," by David Maraniss.
