The E. Robert Williams American Inn of Court annual holiday social Dec. 11 featured guest speaker The Florida Bar President Gwynne Young and a presentation of The John J. Schickel Professionalism.
Boyd & Jenerette shareholder Ben Samuels, one of the founders and past presidents of the Inn, was the recipient of the second annual professionalism award.
He was recognized for continuing to promote the Inns' mission not only amongst members, but to his clients, peers and in practice. Samuels has dedicated his practice to workers' compensation throughout the state of for more than 20 years.
The Inn is named after E. Robert Williams, who was a respected Jacksonville litigator and mediator known for his sense professionalism and ethics in the legal community and the practice of workers' compensation.
The Inns' mission is to promote professionalism, provide tutelage and mentoring amongst the Inns' members while playing an active part in North Florida's legal community.
The first honoree of the professionalism award was Douglas Myers Jr.
The Inn was formed in 2007 and the inaugural banquet was held June 6, 2007, in Jacksonville. It consists of lawyers, judges, mediator, and law students who are significantly involved in the workers' compensation area of law in the city.
