• State Rep. Lake Ray has called for a meeting of the Duval Delegation on Tuesday in Tallahassee to discuss appropriations. The meeting is open to the public and will be at 6:15 p.m. in Room 320 of the Capitol building, 402 South Monroe St.
• Members of the Jacksonville Jaguars have a new Realtor. The team has signed a multiyear sponsorship to make Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty its official Realtor and preferred relocation provider. “With the team’s new ownership and new head coach, this is only fitting,” said Macky Weaver, Jaguars senior vice president of marketing and sales. “We look forward to helping them continue to grow their brand with our fans in North Florida.”
• Mayor Alvin Brown’s Asian American Advisory Board will host a small business startup workshop from 9 a.m.-3p.m. Saturday in the Ed Ball Building. The event is designed for entrepreneurs, who want to learn more about running their own business and will focus on planning, marketing and advertising, accounting and finance. • Speaking of entrepreneurs, Entrepreneurs Anchor magazine will host its first “Masters of the Industry Awards Banquet” beginning at 6 p.m. March 1 at the Wyndham Jacksonville Riverwalk. • The Florida Department of Transportation has begun construction on a new interchange to the Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and 21st Street/Talleyrand Avenue. The interchange will include five new bridges, including two over the Talleyrand Terminal Railroad, one over Phoenix Avenue and two new bridges on MLK Parkway over the ramp that connects to 21st Street. The work should be finished in late 2013. The construction and design cost is $30.5 million. The FDOT spent $13.1 million to buy 93 parcels for the project totaling 20.96 acres.
• The 10th Annual, “Together We Can” campaign breakfast of the Justice Coalition is Thursday from 7-8:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 124 W. Ashley St. The annual event is one of the larger fundraisers for the nonprofit organization that assists individuals, families and communities cope with being the victim of violent crime.
