How did you get involved?
Mark Hulsey, by his example, initiated my interest in community service. Also, for many years I worked with Mark in organizing the annual Florida-Georgia Moot Court Competition. Rick Mullaney, by causing my appointment to the Jacksonville Library Board, for two four year terms, materially furthered my involvement and exposure to additional service opportunities.
How can someone else get involved?
Select something of interest, then volunteer and be aware from that service of leadership opportunities.
What have you learned/achieved through the experience?
The value of focused, collegial leadership in causing organizations to be effective and the importance of doing what you agree to do.
What was the last book you read or are reading?
“About Face” by Colonel David H. Hackworth (last read); “The Sicilian Judge” (a biography of Anthony A. Alimo) by Vincent Coppola (currently reading).
