JAX Chamber plans its 127th annual meeting this year with the theme “Celebrate JAX!”

The chamber will hold the event from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 19 at The Florida Theatre Downtown. More than 700 people are expected to attend.

“It is about highlighting and focusing on the success of our city and region,” said the chamber in a news announcement.

“The theme also complements the #ilovejax campaign that started the last quarter of the year and will continue throughout 2012,” it said, referring to a Twitter movement. The number sign “#” also is known as a hashtag, which is used to mark keywords or topics on Twitter.

“#ilovejax represents the ongoing conversation about what makes the JAX region dynamic.  As a community, we may not necessarily pay attention to all the great things happening. #ilovejax helps remind people and encourage excitement about our home,” said the chamber.

The 2012 annual meeting agenda includes highlights for 2011, tributes and announcements, introduction of the 2012 board of directors and the announcement of the 2012 overall “Small Business Leader of the Year.”

The 2011 chamber chair was Hugh Greene, president and CEO of Baptist Health, and the 2012 chair is Tom Van Berkel, chairman, president and CEO of The Main Street America Group.

Fidelity National Information Services is the platinum sponsor and The Main Street America Group is the “Small Business Leader of the Year” sponsor.

PRI Productions is the presenting sponsor.

Tickets are $45 a person, $300 for a row of seven and $600 for a row of 14.
