Near-perfect weather Monday morning brought thousands of visitors Downtown for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade.

People from all over the city and of all ages stood shoulder to shoulder along the parade route from the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta to Metropolitan Park near EverBank Field.

More than 1,000 people representing more than 100 businesses, clubs, schools and organizations participated in the almost three-hour procession to honor the late civil rights leader on the 83rd anniversary of his birth.
