• Former Jaguar Tony Boselli was the keynote speaker Wednesday at the GrayRobinson law firm’s Community Leader Forum. He talked about the changes with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the need for fans to support the team through the transition to a new owner and coaching staff. He also was asked to compare the Jaguars’ first coach, Tom Coughlin, now coach of the New York Giants, and new Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey. “Mike seems nicer,” joked Boselli, who played for Coughlin, known for being stern. Boselli said they both have a sense of consistency in carrying out their goals and both are talented offensive minds. Boselli also serves as commissioner for Team Teal and he expects updates on new Team Teal programs after the Super Bowl.

• More about Theresa O’Donnell Price, former City director of special events and the new director of major events at the University of North Florida. Price said she and UNF President John Delaney have been talking about the position for a while. She joined Jan. 9, after taking a few months to spend with her family after she left City employment in September. She works in the UNF Office of the President.

• The PGA Tour announced that Jared Rice, director of sales and marketing for The Players Championship, is its top sales person for the 2011 season. Of the 15 events that the PGA Tour owns and operates, Rice was the top sales person for his achievements with The Players in Ponte Vedra Beach. Rice and his team increased hospitality and sponsorship sales by 21 percent from the 2010 tournament to the 2011 tournament.

• Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland announced that early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary Election will begin Saturday and end Jan. 28. He said House Bill 1355 reduced the early voting time period from 14 days to eight days. Early voting will be 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. • The Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 5-30 began voting to accept or reject the contract that was agreed upon last week by the FOP and the City. In the first day of voting, FOP reported Wednesday that members accepted ratifying the contracts. FOP reports that for fiscal 2010 and 2011, police officers through sergeants approved the contract 608-27 and police lieutenants and captains unanimously approved it 20-1. For fiscal 2012 through 2014, offices through sergeants voted in approval 530-46 and lieutenants and captains unanimously voted in approval 20-0.
