• Jennifer Shoaf Richardson (second from right), an attorney with the Creed & Gowdy firm in Jacksonville, accepted the “Outstanding Chapter Programming Award” from the Florida Association of Women Lawyers on behalf of the Tallahassee Women Lawyers chapter for a daylong CLE program called “Rookie Camp.” She executed the chapter’s inaugural Rookie Camp in 2011 while serving as chair of the Young Lawyers Section. • Marks Gray shareholders Marianne Lloyd Aho and Jeptha “Jep” F. Barbour have been named to Florida Trend magazine’s 2012 Florida Legal Elite listing.
• Grubb & Ellis Phoenix Realty Group Inc. has listed the Westside Distribution Center and Ellis Distribution Center, owned by EastGroup Properties. The seven buildings consist of more than 1 million square feet of industrial space that can accommodate tenants from 35,000-119,000 square feet. They are in Jacksonville’s Westside industrial submarket.
• Ansbacher Law, a Jacksonville law firm specializing in real estate law and construction law, has appointed attorney Cynthia Trimmer to associate attorney. She will direct Ansbacher Law’s expanding collections department. She received her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law.
• The Jacksonville Public Library Board of Library Trustees installed new officers and added a new trustee. Brenda Simmons-Hutchins is chair, Erin Vance Skinner is vice chair and Christina Stallings is secretary. Ronnie King II was appointed by Mayor Alvin Brown and confirmed by the City Council for a four-year term as a trustee.
• The CoreLogic research firm said 45.1 percent, or 145,250, of all Jacksonville residential properties with a mortgage were in negative equity for the first quarter of 2012 compared to 47.4 percent, or 153,391 properties, in the fourth quarter of 2011. An additional 5 percent, or 15,965 residential properties, were in near negative equity for the first quarter, up from 4.7 percent, or 15,198, in the fourth quarter.
• The Jacksonville Port Authority announced Friday it will host the 2013 Logistics & Intermodal Conference March 18-20 at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort. The event will be presented by American Shipper Magazine. The conference is held once every two years and registration is limited to 350 people.
