• Even Spradlin was named senior vice president and general manager of the Batson-Cook Co. Jacksonville office. He succeeds David Barksdale, who was named senior vice president and general manager of the Atlanta division.

• The Jacksonville Aviation Authority seeks a company to administer on-site random drug and alcohol screening, pre-employment physicals, police physicals, pre-employment drug screening and fit-for-duty physicals for JAA employees. JAA has about 263 authorized employees and said the random drug and alcohol screenings will be performed at each of JAA’s locations. A mandatory walk-through meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 8 at JAA’s administration building.

• The Northeast Florida Regional Transportation Study Commission’s draft recommendations will be discussed at an Urban Land Institute North Florida lunch meeting from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the University of North Florida University Center. • The University of North Florida will honor Southside resident Peggy Carre on Friday during summer commencement at the UNF Arena. Carre, who will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in economics, will be recognized as the recipient of the Senior Service Award for the summer graduating class for outstanding volunteer service. Her volunteer efforts include work with the Clara White Mission and events with the Coggin Student Ambassadors. UNF expects to award 787 bachelor’s degrees, 165 master’s degrees and six doctorates this term.

• Tony Khan was named senior vice president of Football Technology & Analytics for the Jacksonville Jaguars in July. The 30-year-old son of Jaguars owner Shahid Khan accepted the position after serving as general manager and a member of the board of managers of Bio-Alternative LLC since 2008. Under Tony Khan’s guidance, the Jaguars created a Football Technology and Analytics group this year. Along with assisting the coaching and scouting departments, the group also explores new technology and its applications within all areas of the Jaguars organization.
