How did you get involved?
I became involved with the University of Florida Law School Alumni Council beginning my last year of law school, as I saw a need to help promote the place where I received such an excellent education. I became involved in the Florida Justice Association and Jacksonville Justice Association because I wanted to help preserve the civil justice system. My time coaching t-ball and baseball was inspired due to fond memories I had of my father coaching me as a boy and the positive influence he has had on me my entire life. I wanted to provide the same thing for my son and for other boys in the community.
How can someone else get involved?
All volunteer organizations are looking for hard-working, reliable and dedicated people to help them further their mission. All it takes is a phone call to someone involved with an organization to find out their immediate needs and how to get involved quickly.
What have you learned/achieved through the experience?
People have more in common than what divisive campaigns and talking heads want us to believe.
What is the last book that you read or are reading?
“Pineapple Grenade” by Tim Dorsey.
