• Jacksonville Bancorp Inc. announced Monday that President and CEO Price Schwenck retired. He will be succeeded by Stephen Green, who also was appointed CEO of the company’s subsidiary, The Jacksonville Bank. The company said Green has more than 37 years of banking experience. Jacksonville Bancorp also said that Margaret Incandela was appointed chief operating officer, in addition to her duties as executive vice president and chief credit officer.

• The City will celebrate Independence Day with fireworks over the St. Johns River on the Downtown riverfront. The show begins at 9:45 p.m. July 4 from river barges near the Landing and the Hyatt. Five City parking garages and lots will be open at 5 p.m. They are the West Lot at 300 Courthouse Drive; the Water Street Garage at 541 Water St.; the Bay and Ocean Lot at 112 E. • Gov. Rick Scott appointed George McClure of St. Augustine to the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind board of trustees. McClure has been an attorney and partner with McClure Bloodworth since 2006. He previously practiced with Rogers Towers and was an assistant state attorney with the Seventh Judicial Circuit from 1976-78.

• Paul Crawford, acting executive director of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission, had a memorable Monday. He was called for jury duty at the new Duval County Courthouse on its first day of operations and was chosen for service. It also was his 43rd birthday.
