Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is scheduled to officially open his first Tim Tebow Foundation “Timmy’s Playroom” today at Dreams Come True.

Tebow will talk about the progress of his foundation and recap some of the highlights of last year’s outreach initiatives at the invitation-only event.

Tebow, former quarterback at the University of Florida, has supported the nonprofit Dreams Come True since he played at Florida.

Dreams Come True, based in Southpoint, fulfills the dreams of children who reside or receive treatment in Northeast Florida or Southeast Georgia for life-threatening medical conditions.

The ribbon-cutting is scheduled right after lunch, but reporters are cautioned against asking football questions. The foundation said it didn’t want those issues to override Tebow’s philanthropic work.

“There are too many football items going on and we don’t want those issues to become the story instead of the philanthropic work,” said the invitation.

“Timmy’s Playrooms” are part of the outreach by the foundation, whose mission is “to bring faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.”
