• The Main Street America Group elected four new officers. Mark Friedlander is assistant secretary and director of corporate communications, Kathy Killgore is assistant secretary and claims field director, Matt McColley is assistant director and director of claims technical and Lisa Murman is assistant secretary and director of business technology. Killgore is based in the Syracuse, N.Y., regional office and the others are based in the Jacksonville home office.

• The University of North Florida was admitted to the 2012 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for its work in community settings, student volunteerism and philanthropic efforts as well as academic programs that include community-based learning. It’s the second national award UNF has received for its community engagement efforts. Last year, UNF received the Community Engaged University designation by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

• Kevin Doyle was named executive director of the Consumer Energy Alliance-Florida, part of a national nonprofit organization focused on America’s energy security. Doyle formerly served as state director for former U.S. Sen. Mel Martinez. Doyle also is president of Wexford Strategies, a Jacksonville-based government affairs and political consulting firm.

• The JAX Chamber trade show is 5-8 p.m. April 17 at the University of North Florida University Center. Exhibitor space has sold out. Tickets to attend are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. There’s also “Power Networking” before the show at $15 for chamber members and $25 for others. Information: www.myjaxchamber.com.
