• Jason Holbrook announced the formation of Holbrook Law, PA, a civil litigation law firm. With offices in Jacksonville and Sarasota, Holbrook Law represents individuals and businesses with litigation and business-related matters throughout the state of Florida. 

• The deadline to enter the JAX Boldest Contest is midnight Saturday and contest voting ends at midnight April 7.  JAX Boldest allows contestants to promote their projects, organizations and companies. The contest was initiated as part of the Innovate Northeast Florida project and the JAX Chamber’s #ilovejax campaign and has received more than 150 entries from individuals and groups vying to be called the area’s most innovative company, creative project or nonprofit. Winners are determined by the number of votes received from residents in the JAX region. The public can vote for their favorite entries in each category — company, project and nonprofit organization — at www.jaxboldest.com. Winners will be announced April 19. Top category winners will receive $500.

• Girls Inc. of Jacksonville has formed a partnership with NASA and Kennedy Space Center. The Summer of Innovation program will engage students across the nation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics during the summer months when many students experience what’s known as the “summer slide,” a loss of skills acquired during the school year.

• The retirement ceremony for Circuit Judge Haldane Taylor is scheduled at 4 p.m. Thursday in Courtroom 4 of the Duval County Courthouse.
