The Meninak Club of Jacksonville, which meets Mondays at the Wyndham Hotel on the Downtown Southbank, will take part Friday in an open house at the winner of its annual charity grant.

Girls Inc. of Jacksonville plans the open house from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at its Arlington Girls’ Center at 1420 Rogero Road.

It will feature Girls Inc.’s board and advisory board members, City and school board officials, Meninak members, nonprofit agency representatives and others.

The goal is to raise awareness of Girls Inc. of Jacksonville and its educational programming.

The agency renovated its center with the help of a $30,000 grant last year from Meninak.

The Arlington Girls’ Center opened Aug. 23, 2010, to provide a safe space for Girls Inc.’s after-school programs for girls from elementary through high school. The programs are available at locations in the Arlington and Spring Park areas.
