• Attorney Christian George of Akerman Senterfitt has been elected to The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Seat 1 for the Fourth Circuit.
• Potential bidders for the City’s Requests for Proposal for the facilities management contract will have one additional week to submit their proposal. Originally due April 18, the deadline for bids was moved to May 9 and has again been pushed back to May 16. The contract is for the management of EverBank Field, the Arena, Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville and other venues.
• The 20th Annual Small Business Week Celebration will be 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. May 24 at the University of North Florida University Center. The U.S. Small Business Administration will present its Small Business Week awards to local business leaders and champions at the district level and also recognize lenders.
• Roland Udenze, principal architect at Haskell, received the John Dyal Award from the Jacksonville chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The award is presented annually in recognition of community service over an extended period of time. Udenze is the longest-serving board member of the Downtown Development Authority, the Design Review Committee and the Downtown Development Review Board of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission.
