• Monica Day, vice president of operations for Petway Companies Inc., is retiring June 1 after a career working with insurance executive and former Jacksonville Jaguars partner Tom Petway, who also has retired. Day said she will focus on volunteering with the community and her church, The Church of Eleven22, spending time with her family and traveling. “For the past 25 years, I have had the great privilege and honor of working with Tom Petway, his family, his associates and the businesses he has led. It has been a dream career filled with exceptional opportunities,” she said.
• Mayor Alvin Brown will host the second Business Builder summit today and Friday at the Osborn Center. The summit is designed to help small businesses gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed and to help them learn about gaining access to capital and credit. • The City has approved build-out for Baptist AgeWell in the Aetna Building at 841 Prudential Drive. Commercial Interiors of Jacksonville Inc. will handle the 6,700-square-foot project at a job cost of $495,337, the permit shows. Baptist Health previously announced development of the AgeWell Institute, designed as a comprehensive geriatric institute, and that the AgeWell Senior Health Center will be located in the Aetna Building in the San Marco area of Jacksonville.
• Colin Barnes has joined the creative staff of Scott-McRae Advertising. Barnes, a 2011 graduate of Flagler College with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, has won numerous awards. His work as a professional designer for the nonprofit Family Promise earned him a National ADDY.
• Lender Processing Services Inc. promoted Sheryl Newman from deputy general counsel to chief compliance officer. She will be responsible for creating and managing an enterprisewide organization to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and operational controls. Newman has been employed with the company for eight years.
• Jacksonville-based FIS, a provider of banking and payments technology, announced it has won three awards at the Business Process Outsourcing Excellence Awards 2011–12 held in Mumbai. FIS was recognized as “Most Significant Contributor to the BPO Industry,” “Use of Technology for Operational Excellence” and “BPO Innovator of the Year” for its management capabilities and investment in management systems that enable outsourcing success.
