Ashley Smith Juarez defeated Suzanne Jenkins to claim a School Board District 3 victory Tuesday. Smith Juarez, executive director of The Chartrand Foundation, collected 54 percent of the 46,970 votes cast to defeat the former City Council member. She will succeed W.C. Gentry for the district that includes San Jose, San Marco and parts of the Southside.
