With Jacksonville's salute to the military rolling through Downtown Nov. 12, members of The Jacksonville Bar Association gathered to recognize service and sacrifice of the military.

The JBA invited members of the military, police and firefighter communities to join them for its lunch program.

The program featured the presentation of the Raymond Ehrlich Trial Advocacy Award, the newly created James C. Rinaman Jr. Public Service Award and past The JBA President Capt. Dan Bean receiving a Legion of Merit medal.

Former Judge Tyrie A. Boyer was recognized with the Ehrlich Award.

Paul Renner was the first recipient of the Rinaman Public Service Award. The trophy states the award was "In recognition of your extraordinary service to our profession, our community and our country. Your commitment and dedication to make the world a better place."

Renner has been a shareholder with Milam Howard Nicandri Dees & Gillam, P.A. since 2007. His practice area includes general business litigation. He took a leave of absence from the firm in 2011 to serve his country in the Navy. Since his return, he has not only been working to rebuild his business, but He has also joined the Rotary Club and is the current chair of the commercial litigation committee for The JBA.
