• Fowler White Boggs announced two of the firm’s Jacksonville attorneys have been named “Lawyers of the Year” by the “Best Lawyers” publication. Eric Holshouser was named Jacksonville’s Employment Law – Management Lawyer of the Year. Robert Riegel Jr. was named Jacksonville’s Litigation – Labor & Employment Lawyer of the Year.
• The Florida State University College of Law Mock Trial Team won first place in the 2012 National Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition Oct. 11-14 in San Francisco, where 22 teams from 17 law schools competed. Winning team members are third-year law students Nicholas Horton, from Cincinnati, Ohio; Adrian Mood, from Lancaster, S.C.; Peter Tragos, from Clearwater; and Sean Wiggins, from Gainesville. Mood also received the competition’s George Porter Award for Outstanding Achievement. The team was coached by Tom Kirwin, former deputy CFO at the Florida Department of Financial Services, and Richard Tanner, managing partner of the Tallahassee office of deBeaubien, Knight, Simmons, Mantzaris & Neal.
