From now through Sept. 30, the $1.50 fare for a ride on the Riverside trolley has been waived.

Beginning Monday, merchants along the route will offer discounts on food and merchandise exclusively for trolley riders.

Passengers will be given a sticker that will entitle them to a discount at any merchant displaying the sticker. More than 25 retailers at the Landing have already signed up to offer discounts and more merchants will be added as the promotion progresses.

The trolley route includes Hemming Plaza, the Duval County Courthouse, Water Street near the Landing and Riverside Avenue to Memorial Park near Five Points.

A trolley passes each stop every 10 minutes from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
