JPMorgan Chase has filed applications with the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to open three bank branches in the Jacksonville area, confirming plans that have surfaced in other regulatory filings.

In the April 15 filings with the Comptroller of the Currency, JPMorgan Chase applied to open the:

• Southside & Touchton Banking Center at 4372 Southside Blvd.

• Riverside & Margaret Banking Center at Riverside Avenue and Margaret Street

• Racetrack & SR 13 Banking Center in St. Johns County at Racetrack Road and Florida 13

Chase is planning for at least six area banking offices, comprising five in Duval County and one in St. Johns County, along with at least five separate ATMS.

Those are in addition to the one Chase office with an ATM at 7301 Baymeadows Way, near Cypress Plaza Drive, and a Chase ATM in Neptune Beach at 233 Atlantic Blvd., and other Chase functions.

Plans filed with the City, the St. Johns River Water Management District and the Comptroller of the Currency show plans for six Chase banks at:

• 1515 Atlantic Blvd., between Hendricks and Thacker avenues in San Marco. A zoning administrative deviation request for the project shows a 5,320-square-foot bank on less than 1 acre. SM Ventures Inc. is the property owner and Boos Development Group of Clearwater is shown on plans as the developer. Janet O. Whitmill is the agent.

• 13520 Beach Blvd., at southwest Beach and Hodges boulevards in Hodges Pointe Plaza. Proposed construction plans show a 5,278-square-foot, one-story building for Chase with three drive-thru lanes on 1.4 acres of vacant land. LAI Engineering of Marietta, Ga., is the agent. Plans were prepared for BDG Architects. The property owner is Property Management Support Inc. Plans were filed with the St. Johns River Water Management District and the City.

• 4372 Southside Blvd., No. 200, at Touchton Road. Plans show a 2,693-square-foot JPMorgan Chase Retail Banking Center. The owner of the project is listed as Chase Bank of Tampa. The construction contract is out to bid for the $600,000 build-out. BDG Architects of Tampa is the design firm. An application for a building permit was filed with the City.

• 1661 Riverside Ave., No. 125, at Margaret Street. The proposed interior build-out plans show a 1,252-square-foot retail banking branch. The owner is Chase Bank of Tampa and the architect is BDG Architects of Tampa. The construction contract is out to bid for the $450,000 project. An application for a building permit was filed with the City.

• 6012 San Jose Blvd., at University Boulevard West. The proposed interior build-out shows a 2,693-square-foot JPMorgan Chase retail banking center. The owner is JPMorgan Chase Bank in New York. No contractor was listed for the $225,000 project. An application for a building permit was filed with the City.

• Bartram West Village, 332 N. Florida 13, at Race Track Road, St. Johns County. Plans show proposed construction of a 3,456-square-foot building with three drive-thru lanes on about 1 acre. The developer is shown as Chase in Boca Raton. The engineer is LAI Engineering of St. Augustine. Plans were filed with the water management district.

As reported March 27, JPMorgan Chase & Co. also has applied with the St. Johns River Water Management District for at least five standalone ATM developments.

Almond Engineering applied to the St. Johns River Water Management District for a permit determination for the five locations for Chase Bank ATMS:

• Roosevelt Marketplace, 4261 Roosevelt Blvd.

• St. Johns Square, 11240 Beach Blvd.

• Regency Plaza, 9840 Atlantic Blvd.

• Shoppes of San Jose, 2777 University Blvd. W.

• Southside Square, 9051 Southside Blvd.

"The project is located in a highly urbanized area," says each application, dated March 21. The drive-thru ATMs would be developed on existing parking areas. The client is identified as the Chase Retail Distribution Network.

Meanwhile, City permit applications are being filed for at least two of the Chase Bank ATM projects — 4261 Roosevelt Ave., at Roosevelt Marketplace, and 11240 Beach Blvd., at St. Johns Square.

Each is shown at a project cost of $25,000. The contractor is Security Vault Works Inc. of Pompano Beach. The projects are installation of new remote ATMs for Chase Bank.

New York-based Chase has not commented about the regulatory and permit applications under review in Northeast Florida.

The jpmorganchase.com website reports the bank has more than 17,000 employees in 300 locations throughout Florida.

As of Dec. 31, JPMorgan Chase had 5,614 branches, up 106 from the year before and up 18 over the quarter. The branches operate in 23 states.

The company reported 2012 net income of a record $21.3 billion, up from $19 billion from 2011. Revenue was flat at $99.9 billion.

Fourth-quarter net income was $5.7 billion, up from $3.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2011. Revenue was up 10 percent to $34.4 billion.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. reported assets of $2.4 trillion worldwide. It provides investment banking, finance services for consumers and small businesses, commercial banking, financial transaction processing, asset management and private equity.

The Baymeadows Way address is the site of JPMorgan Chase's mortgage banking operations center in Jacksonville, which it acquired from the failed Washington Mutual Inc. Chase also has an operation in Deerwood Park at 10151 Deerwood Park Blvd.

Chase also has big plans for the Baymeadows building.

The City approved a permit for Dav-Lin Interior Contractors to renovate the main cafeteria at JPMorgan Chase's main building in Baymeadows at a project cost of $1.07 million.

According to the permit, JPMorgan Chase will renovate 3,651 square feet of space at the 7301 Baymeadows Way building for a kitchen renovation, partitions, flooring, plumbing, electrical and HVAC work.

JPMorgan Chase also has applied for a permit to renovate part of the third floor of the three-story building at a project cost of $500,000.

No contractor was specified for that 14,733-square-foot project, described as demolition of existing offices, reconfiguration of open office area, and addition of conference rooms.

The plans show offices, open areas, "huddle" rooms, a break room and a "war room."

The project designer is ASD Inc.
