For some people, December is the season to be jolly, but for Harold Pierce, it’s the season to ring the bell. One of the most dedicated volunteers for the past 20 years during the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign, Pierce was collecting donations Downtown until 9 p.m. Wednesday during Art Walk. He set up his kettle at 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday in front of the Duval County Courthouse and said he’ll be on the same schedule in the same location today. Saturday, he will ring the bell at the Riverside Arts Market. Sunday is Pierce’s day off – sort of. “I drive the van for the Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church. I’ll be picking people up and then taking them home after the services,” he said.
