• The Downtown Investment Authority will meet at 2 p.m. today Downtown on the eighth floor of the Ed Ball Building, 214 N. Hogan St.
• The next meeting of the Downtown Development Review Board is 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lynwood Roberts Room at City Hall, 117 W. Duval St.
• The Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida has announced Brad Thoburn has joined its board of directors. Thoburn is the director of strategic planning and research at the Jacksonville Transportation Authority and is former state transportation development administrator for the Florida Department of Transportation and former City Planning Department director.
• The Jessie Ball duPont Fund has added Chris Crothers and Mark Walker to its staff. Crothers is the program officer to serve eligible organizations in Delaware and the Northeast and Walker is a research associate overseeing internal knowledge management programs. He also will manage the fund's grantmaking in parts of northern Virginia. The fund provides grants to organizations whose eligibility is determined exclusively by duPont's personal philanthropic decisions outlined in her will.
• Haskell promoted Jim O'Leary, John-Paul Saenz and Paul Raudenbush as part of its growth and expansion strategy. O'Leary, Haskell Industrial Group president, was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer. He has been with Haskell since 1989. Saenz was promoted to Industrial Group president and has been with the company since 1997. He has served in several company capacities, most recently as Food and Beverage Division vice president. Raudenbush has been promoted to senior vice president and will continue to lead Haskell's Manufacturing and Technology Division. He also will provide senior leadership to the Energy Division.
• St. Vincent's HealthCare last week received a $500,000 gift from the Reinhold Foundation and Reinhold family, which will support the construction of St. Vincent's Medical Center Clay County. The facility is scheduled to open in October.
