Special to Realty/Builder Connection
A standing-room-only crowd of approximately 350 people packed the Selva Marina clubhouse last month to see plans for the 55-year-old golf country club, which will be renamed Atlantic Beach Country Club.
The development team of Atlantic Beach Partners, LLC, which is purchasing 170 acres of land from Selva Marina stockholders and debtors, provided artist renderings, answered questions and began accepting deposits for home sites at the members-only preview.
Atlantic Beach Partners is led by Rick and Susie Wood of Jacksonville-based Wood Development. Other members of the partnership are Gary and Leed Silverfield of the Silverfield Group, and William R. “Billy” Howell of the W. R. Howell Company. Combined, the ABP team has developed more than 15,000 home sites during the past 30 years.
Selva Marina members had first pick of home sites through August 31. Select builders then could buy home sites September 14. Now, the general public can purchase home sites.
A country club social membership is included in the purchase of any of the 174 new home sites.
Home site sales are being handled by Lee Elmore of Prudential Realty’s Atlantic Beach office.
Atlantic Beach Partners will replace the existing golf course with a new 18-hole, 6,825-yard championship course; the current clubhouse, swim and tennis amenities with a new 12,000-square-foot clubhouse, seven Har-Tru tennis courts; a junior Olympic-size swimming pool with children’s water features; and will add 174 single-family home sites.
