Three African lion cubs will make their public debut at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.
The cubs, two boys and one girl, were born Sept. 10 to mother, Tamu, above, and father, Catali.
Their original debut was delayed when Tamu accidentally stepped on the leg of the male cub on the left. No surgery was necessary and the injury is healing nicely, zoo officials said.
Naming rights for the cubs will be auctioned April 11 at ExZOOberation, the zoo’s largest fundraiser. The zoo also is hosting a New Year’s Eve event at noon Wednesday.
