Retired Bishop Rudolph McKissick Sr. was honored at a ceremony Friday at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. McKissick stepped down last month as pastor at Bethel Baptist Institutional Church after 47 years. His son, Bishop Rudolph McKissick Jr., will take over. Among the guests at the event were Mayor Alvin Brown.
