Valentine’s Day is about candy, jewelry, fresh flowers and dining with the one you love.

The only item on the list that can’t be found Downtown is flowers, but if something sweet, something shiny or a romantic dinner will make your Valentine’s Day it’s in the neighborhood.

Prix fixe dinners are offered at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, the Omni hotel and at Café Nola inside the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville.

The Hyatt’s Valentine’s Day appetizer menu includes crab bisque and sesame-seared tuna followed by ribeye steak, pan-seared grouper, roasted duck breast or sea scallops with chocolate strawberry cheesecake, raspberry pistachio torte or a chocolate sampler for dessert.

At the newly remodeled Juliette’s Bistro at the Omni, it’s a choice of citrus-marinated duck breast, pink peppercorn tuna or garlic rosemary filet mignon. Appetizers include grilled oysters and lamb lollipops. White chocolate cheesecake, baked strawberry pudding or a peach poached in red wine are the dessert choices.

Café Nola is preparing choice of goat cheese custard or Korean barbecue followed by blackened scallops, black truffle gnocchi or red wine-braised osso buco, chocolate lava cake and fresh tarts are on the dessert menu.

Reservation information may be found on the Downtown This Week calendar.
