ADS Waste Holdings Inc. announced this morning that Advanced Disposal CEO Charles C. Appleby will retire July 1.

Appleby will remain on the board following his retirement.

The board selected company President Richard Burke as CEO, effective upon Appleby’s retirement.

“Richard has the broad business experience, in-depth industry knowledge, and has clearly demonstrated the requisite executive skills and temperament to lead Advanced Disposal successfully into the future,” Appleby said.

Walter Hall, the chief operating officer of the company, will leave Advanced Disposal in order to pursue other opportunities. Burke also will serve as COO, effective immediately, until he assumes the position of CEO or until a replacement is named.

Based in Ponte Vedra, Advanced Disposal provides non-hazardous solid waste collection, recycling and disposal services to residential, commercial, industrial and construction clients in 18 states and the Bahamas.
