How did you become involved? I became involved in Guardian ad Litem because there are so many children in need of support and advocacy in the dependency system. I became a Stephen Minister to meet with people going through a life crisis because my daughter had cancer when she was 2 years old (she’s four years cancer free now), and my husband and I received wonderful support from family and friends that I wanted to pass on to others.

How can someone else become involved? To volunteer for Guardian ad Litem, you must apply and go through the training. To find information about Guardian ad Litem, go to guardianadlitem.org.

What was the last book you read or are reading? I am reading “Flight Behavior” by Barbara Kingsolver.
