Darrell Coleman spent more time in the 600-square-foot suite within Lennar’s 3,800-square-foot house than he spent in the entire rest of the building.

After learning the Genesis Bonus at North Palencia had been designed for multi-generational living, he said, “I tell you, if your kids ever got to use this suite, they’d never leave home.”

NEFBA’s 2014 Parade of Homes drew hordes of enthusiasts, ranging from serious shoppers to the merely curious.

Seventy-five models in 63 communities were represented, ranging in price from $161,000 to $1 million.

Coleman was among the curious. He and his wife came out to “see how the other half live,” he said with a laugh.

Katy Hoffstatter, on the other hand, is a recent home buyer. She and her husband, Andrew, were touring models to get decorating ideas.

Of all the homes she’d seen so far, the Vienna at Tamaya, by ICI Homes, was her favorite.

“We love the color scheme, the blues and natural cream colors,” she said. “And, the kitchen features are similar to what we chose. We can get an idea of how it’s going to work in our house.”

Site agents were pleased with what they were seeing. One said he’d hosted more than 100 people in one day, better than in recent years.
