Jacksonville University has brought aboard a high-profile military veteran and well-known law school administrator for top positions within the school.
Michael Fleming, a retired brigadier general and former managing director of Deutsche Bank, has been named the school’s chief government, military and community relations officer. He’ll be responsible for developing and enhancing relations with government, community and military leaders.
Teresa Heekin Davlantes, former vice president of strategy and general counsel for Florida Coastal School of Law, is joining JU as the inaugural executive director of its Entrepreneurism, Policy, Innovation and Commerce initiative.
Short for EPIC, it’s a premier research, education, policy and engagement initiative meant to boost Florida’s economic development by equipping graduates with high-demand cross-disciplinary skills.
They both began Wednesday.
“Mike brings broad and deep senior-level executive leadership experience in multiple positions, and Terri is well-recognized for her highly advanced skills in academic program startup and marketplace innovation,” JU President Tim Cost said.
In addition, Diana Donovan has joined JU for the newly created position of director of the Office of the President. She most recently was director of scheduling for Mayor Alvin Brown and is a JU alumna.
