Seventeen attorneys have applied to replace Judge Donald Moran, who is retiring Dec. 31. They are:

Comments about the applicants’ qualifications should be mailed to Chip Bachara, 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission chair, One Independent Drive, Suite 1800, Jacksonville, FL 32202.

Comments must be received before Sept. 30.

Interviews with the applicants begin at 9 a.m. Oct. 1 in the Duval County Courthouse, Room 7139.

The interviews are open to the public. Deliberations are confidential.

Havens joins Holland & Knight

Jason Havens joined Holland & Knight’s Private Wealth Services Group as a senior counsel in the Jacksonville and Tallahassee offices.

He was formerly a managing attorney with Havens & Miller.

Havens is licensed in both Florida and Tennessee and will continue his business and tax law practice representing clients in planning and administration matters, charitable planning, exempt organizations and asset protection law.

Havens received his B.A. degree from Lipscomb University and his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
