Two Regency area stores – Bed Bath & Beyond and World Market – posted signs on their stores that they will be closing. Bed Bath & Beyond is at 9337 Atlantic Blvd. and World Market is in Regency Commons at 651 Commerce Center Drive.
Both are holding clearance and liquidation sales. Bed Bath & Beyond refers customers to three other area locations. World Market has two other area stores.
Also, The Wet Seal closed its Regency Square Mall store this week, according to mall general manager Jim Kramer. The California-based chain, a fashion retailer for teen girls and young women, has been seeking to recapitalize or restructure.
Kramer said stores closed across the country the past 10 days. The Los Angeles Times reported Monday that the retailer has not said how many stores are closing and had not returned calls or emails.
Meanwhile, Deerfield Beach-based Youfit Health Clubs plans a location in the Regency area. A sign for it is on the space next to Lumber Liquidators in the Regency Court Shopping Center.
The club opened its first Northeast Florida club in September in the Gateway Town Center.
The city is reviewing a permit application to renovate almost 16,900 square feet of space for Youfit at 9244 Arlington Expressway.
