Robin Lumb decided not to pursue a second term on City Council, but he’ll be staying at City Hall.

Lumb resigned as chairman of the Duval County Republican Executive Committee to become Mayor Lenny Curry’s policy director.

He will advise, research and implement mayoral initiatives. Additionally, he’ll make recommendations and develop action plans to meet objectives.

Lumb will make $92,000 per year and report to Chief of Staff Kerri Stewart.

“Robin sees the big picture and still understands the myriad of details and requirements of public policy,” said Stewart in a news release.

During his tenure on council, he introduced “whistleblower protection” legislation and spearheaded the creation of the city’s independent Inspector General.
