Bill Bishop is staying out of it.

The two-term City Council member, and third-place finisher in this year’s mayor’s race, won’t be endorsing fellow Republican Lenny Curry or Democratic Mayor Alvin Brown.

Bishop will be involved in the next one, though — he said he’d be again run for the office in 2019.

The announcement to not endorse comes a week after Bishop received 16.8 percent of the vote, placing him second-place Curry’s 38.4 percent and first-place Brown’s 42.6 percent.

In the week since, speculation has been rampant about which candidate, if either, would receive his backing.
