Voters overwhelmingly approved two City Charter amendments placed on Tuesday ballots.
The first incorporates a General Counsel Qualification Review Committee into the charter, while also clarifying the term and qualifications of the general counsel and allows that person to be removed by City Council for cause.
With almost 94 percent of precincts reporting, it’s garnered almost 71 percent approval.
The other charter amendment requires the mayor to appoint a chief administrative officer and finance director with outlined duties while also requiring city department heads to be appointed within 60 days of being vacant.
So far, it has an approval rating of just over 70 percent.
