Tommy Hazouri has completed the local trifecta, of sorts.

The former Democrat mayor and Duval County School Board member will serve four years on City Council after taking in 55 percent of the vote Tuesday evening with 93 percent of precincts reporting.

His opponent, Republican Geoff Youngblood, earned 45 percent for the citywide At-Large Group 3 race.

In addition to public office locally, Hazouri served the Florida House from 1974-68.

He succeeds council member Stephen Joost for the seat.
